The Stone Lake Community Wetland Park is located directly in the center of the Village of Stone Lake on the west side of Highway 70. This is a wonderful 17 acre park and includes a six acre wetland
which serves as the filtering pond for the lake known as Stone Lake. The Village of Stone Lake is situated on and around a hill. The incline leads all runoff directly into this filtering pond in the
wetland park.
For many years, even before the wetland park was created, this strategically-located body of water has caught all of the sediment that would have eventually found its way into Stone Lake. Because of
this, Stone Lake has taken its place as one of the clearest bodies of water in Wisconsin. Creating the Stone Lake Community Wetland Park has now assured that this natural filter will always remain in
place, providing this very important service for our town's namesake.
